My Favourite Pembrokeshire Wedding Venues (As a Coastal Wedding Photographer)

If you’re searching for Pembrokeshire wedding venues, you’ll find no shortage of lists. Most of them pull from directories and have never actually been to these places. This one’s different. I’m a wedding photographer based in Pembrokeshire, and every venue below is one I’ve personally shot a wedding at. Here’s what I actually think.

Pembrokeshire is a beautiful rural location to have a wedding. The coastline, the light, the variety of landscapes, I am very luck and it makes my job easier and your photos better. These are the six venues I’d recommend without hesitation.

Nolton Coast Weddings | St Brides Bay, Pembrokeshire

Nolton Coast Weddings clifftop tipi ceremony overlooking St Brides Bay, Pembrokeshire

Nolton Coast is a new kid on the wedding block!!! But if you are after a rustic vibe or coastal view, it’s a great option. It’s a 400-acre working family farm perched above St Brides Bay, with cliffside tipi sites, an oak-framed barn, and Atlantic views stretching out as far as you can see.

The weekend wedding model works really well here. Couples take over the entire site, guests stay on-site, and the whole thing becomes more of an experience than a single day. Nobody’s rushing off at 10pm.

Manorbier Castle | Coastal Pembrokeshire Wedding Venue

For my couples, Manorbier is the best of both worlds, coastal and effortlessly cool. It’s a castle but not in a princess vibe, in a natural, effortless way. I LOVE the mossy walls and the feeling of all the guests together in the walls, enjoying the time. It’s moody and real. It’s a 12th-century castle on the edge of the Pembrokeshire coast — the sea is right there, and the stone walls have stood for nearly 900 years.

Ceremonies work in the vaulted indoor space for smaller guest lists, or the courtyard opens up for a full marquee or tipi. The onsite accommodation is one of the most practical things about this venue — bridal prep happens on-site, the ceremony is on-site, and nobody’s doing a stressed coach transfer mid-morning.

Gellifawr Woodland Retreat | Fishguard, Pembrokeshire

I photograph at Gellifawr A LOT, having captured weddings there over 40 times over the last few years, I can say no two weddings are the same. It’s one of those Pembrokeshire wedding venues that genuinely covers all the bases. It sits inside the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park near Newport and gives you outdoor ceremony space, a purpose-built barn, landscaped gardens, a pond, and loads more.

As a photographer, what I value most here is the variety of backdrops without ever leaving the grounds. You can go from woodland to open garden to barn interior all in one day, which keeps the gallery interesting and means you’re not hunting for locations.

It is also one of the venues that can work in any season. I love a winter wedding at this venue.

Fforest Farm | Cilgerran, West Wales

The vibe is relaxed, earthy…. think canvas, reclaimed wood, outdoor bathrooms, and nature everywhere. It’s a great fit for couples who want a proper weekend celebration and love an elevated organic vibe… If that makes sense. I have a full blog on it here > Honest Guide to Fforest Farm Weddings

Fforest is in a category of its own among outdoor wedding venues in West Wales. It’s a 200-acre farm in the ancient Cilgerran forest, bordered by the Teifi Marshes nature reserve on one side and the Cilgerran gorge on the other. Fully residential, exclusively yours for the weekend, accommodation for 130+ guests from a Georgian farmhouse to geodesic domes.

The ceremony spaces here are genuinely special. The steep-walled ancient quarry surrounded by oaks is one of the most atmospheric spots I’ve shot in Pembrokeshire. There’s also a giant hat tipi overlooking meadows and a garden pavilion if you want something more open. They grow much of their own produce and the food is consistently excellent.

The Milk Wood | Nevern Valley, Pembrokeshire

I was very pleased to be the first to photograph a wedding here in October last year. It was so beautiful. These kinds of intimate dry hire sites are great for week-long celebrations.

The Milk Wood is one of the most beautiful hidden gems among Pembrokeshire wedding venues, and not enough people know about it yet. It’s a private riverfront estate in the Nevern Valley near Newport, a wedding barn, four accommodation cottages, ancient oak woodland, and the River Nyfer running through the grounds.

It’s an intimate venue by design, up to 70 guests, so it’s not for everyone. But the aesthetic is bloody fab, Nordic-influenced, natural materials, nothing overdone. Dry hire means you bring your own suppliers, which gives you complete control over the look and feel of the day.

One practical note: The Milk Wood isn’t licensed for legal ceremonies. Most couples either do a humanist ceremony on-site or head to a church or venue.

Hilton Court | Roch, St Brides Bay, Pembrokeshire

Hilton Court wedding venue near Roch, Pembrokeshire — woodland gardens and lily ponds with St Brides Bay sea views

Hilton Court is tucked away near Roch, about a mile from the beach, with sea views across St Brides Bay. The grounds are 12 acres of woodland, manicured gardens, lily-filled ponds, and a tropical glass geodesic dome — it’s an unusual combination and it’s genuinely beautiful.

Exclusive use, limited weddings per year, which means the attention to detail is there. You can legally marry anywhere within the grounds — the wooden gazebo overlooking the gardens is the most popular spot, but the geodesic dome and the pond are both brilliant options depending on your guest numbers. It suits everyone from intimate elopements to larger celebrations.

The Gradens are just a great backdrop for photos and adventures.

A Word on Pembrokeshire Coastal Light

If there’s one thing that makes Pembrokeshire wedding photography different, it’s the light. The Atlantic air keeps it clean, clear, and dramatic — and during golden hour on the coast, it does things that simply can’t be replicated or edited in. If you’re planning a coastal wedding in West Wales, build time for sunset portraits. Every couple I’ve photographed here has been glad they did.
